This book Finnish Air Force VI is the sixth volume of a series covering the phases of the Finnish air arm. This volume deals with 1944, the final year of the Continuation War. The focus is in Finland's repelling the Soviet major offensives on the Karelian Isthmus and Olonets. These defensive victories made it possible to negotiate of a separate peace term, which lead to a cease-fire on 4 September 1944 and truce a fortnight later. Thereafter followed a short war against the Germans in Lapland. The main text runs on a daily basis with comprehensive victory and loss lists and quotes from both Finnish and Russian war diaries and combat reports. Orders of Battle of the Red air forces is presented also for comparison. The book is compiled keeping those in mind who are interested in aviation history, warfare and modelling. The size of the book in A4 (210x297 mm) with laminated hard covers, 208 pages printed on glossy art paper.
The main text is fully bi-lingual in Finnish and English. Photo captions are also fully bi-lingual for 250 top quality pictures of both men and machines, supplemented by extensive appendixes of units, commanders, bases, missions and orders of battle.
